THINGS TO DO IN THE REGION

Spring is finally here and there is much that this region has to offer for those that enjoy outdoor activities.   Whether you enjoy a nice garden stroll, music festivals, wine tasting, sports or dining out, you’ll find plenty to do!

My favorite place to go in late spring and summer is Rehoboth, Delaware  which boasts a stretch of beach, boardwalk and side streets that are aligned with quaint boutiques.   I station myself for the day under an umbrella with book in hand and cooler at my feet.  When hunger strikes, I make my way down the boardwalk to Grottos Pizza and Thrashers Boardwalk Fries

The Wilmington Waterfront
, (Delaware) offers a variety of activities which include Blue Rocks Baseball, indoor/outdoor dining, and musical events. My family meets here for Mother’s Day lunch and Father’s Day baseball.

Another favorite haunt of mine is Chesapeake City, Maryland, which is in part situated along the
C & D Canal.  It’s another nice little town to visit for the day.  Chesapeake Inn and Schaefer’s Canal House are great spots to relax and dine along the waterfront.  Both offer live entertainment. Those interested in doing a little sightseeing along the canal can book a tour on board the Miss Clare.

Enjoy the season everyone!
