Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen to speak at Washington D.C., National Small Business Week
Federal
Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is the featured speaker during a kick off
reception at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during the Washington, D.C.
leg of
National Small Business Week hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) May 15.
Dr.
Yellen began her four-year term as Chair of the Board of Governors of
the Federal Reserve System February 3, 2014. She also serves as Chair
of the Federal Open Market
Committee, the System's principal monetary policymaking body. Prior to
her appointment as Chair, Dr. Yellen served as Vice Chair of the Board
of Governors.
Every
year since 1963, the SBA salutes outstanding entrepreneurs, small
business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S territories
during National Small Business
Week. This year, in addition to other SBA regional and local small
business week events being held around the country, the cities of:
Boston, San Francisco, Kansas City, and Washington, D.C. are hosting
national events the week of May 12-16.
The
Washington D.C. event, scheduled for May 15-16, features
entrepreneurship workshops, panel discussions, award ceremonies and
business matchmaking sessions for small
businesses to market their goods and services to federal agencies and
prime contractors.
