U.S. POSTAL SERVICE RESUMES ACCEPTING CANADIAN MAIL

The U.S Postal Service resumes accepting mail to Canada after more than three (3) weeks of strike by the Canadian Union of Postal workers. Thousands of Canadian post employees went back to work last Monday, June 27 but not before staging protests across the country to vent their frustration at Ottawa's handling of labour unrest at the Crown corporation.

Mails that were held in the U.S. Postal Service network since the work stoppage began were released and transported to Canada in stages. Customers could still experience some delays in service due to the large volume of mails that were being held. The U.S. Postal Service is working closely with Canada Post to keep these delays to a minimum and return service levels to normal for all products as quickly as possible.
