USPS Proposed Pricing Strategy to Focus on Strong Package Growth

The U.S. Postal Service filed pricing proposal with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) last January 26, 2015 in line with their ongoing strategy to focus on strong package growth.

Some of the vital parts of the proposal includes an overall 3.4 percent price increase on the following:

  • No price increase in domestic Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail services and products.
  •  Priority Mail International will increase 6.8 percent, and pricing to Canada will be zoned.
  •   Priority Mail Express International will increase 6.7 percent with Flat Rate pricing available.
Unlike other shipping companies, the Postal Service is not implementing new dimensional weight charges in its commitment to deliver the best value for customers.

The PRC will review the prices before they become effective on April 26, 2015.
