Multigenerational Occupation of Housing is on the Rise



Our economy is fueling the need for multigenerational housing.  In the U.S., 16.7% of the population lives in housing with more than one generation of adults, and the number is steadily growing.

Statistics show that multigenerational living arrangements can be a benefit on multiple levels:

  • ·         Chore sharing
  • ·         Reinforced family ties

Careful planning and preparation of the domicile, with regards to creating common areas and private areas can go a long way to ensure multigenerational harmony.
