Where to Find Financial Grants for your Small Business

At some point in time, aren't we all looking for business funding in one form or another?

No matter what line of business you are in, chances are you'll need start up money for your company or possibly even an injection of capital to keep your plans going. You can get there in any number of ways; personal investment, traditional bank loans, and venture capital to name a few.

Yes, these are all options, and they all require you to pay the lender back in some way or another.

Given the choice, wouldn't you prefer free money?

Grants may be available to you, and may just provide you with that opportunity.

I recently stumbled upon an article that has some good info in the subject of grants for small enterprises. Kevin Casey lays out some great options for you to consider in his post 5 Great Financial Grants for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs. You can read his whole post for the details, but here are some quick sources you may find helpful:

  • Economic Development Directory - lists local and international agencies for grants.

  • Grants.gov - offers a comprehensive search tool for federal monies.

  • The Amber Foundation - supporting women entrepreneurs.

  • Love a Local Business - a grant competition.

  • Happy hunting!
