Location, Location, Location...and Technology!
We all know that, when starting a small business, we need to do our homework. Location, economic conditions, market trends and the cost of delivering the finished product are just some of the things we research. If you're moving from a position where you have access to a well supplied and technologically up to date environment, you may be in for a BIG SURPRISE! , when you start out on your own. You no longer have the stocked supply room, networked computers, scanners, fax machines and a personal support team. It's more than a good idea to include the costs of adequate technology in your business plan. The technological foundation may be just as important as the ideas and bricks and mortar that go into a company. Technology, in the forms of equipment and the necessary software to run the equipment are tools to assist with managing the accounting, inventorying and record keeping, etc.
Improved efficiency through the use of technology may put you ahead of your competition!
