Pending Federal Legislation

Here's the latest info on bills pending in the US House of Representatives and the US Senate that may affect how you run your business:

HR 6601

Summary: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to simplify the deduction for business use of the home and to make other changes affecting small businesses.

Current Status: July 24, 2008 Referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.


SB 3389

Summary: A bill to require, for the benefit of shareholders, the disclosure of payments to foreign governments for the extraction of natural resources, to allow such shareholders more appropriately to determine associated risks.

Current Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
