Over the Line

I’ll admit something, I am a Delaware Incorporator and I reside in Maryland. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Maryland/Delaware line as a matter of fact. Being so close to the first state can come in handy, not only for my commute, but also for shopping….as there is no sales tax. Christiana Mall offers a plethora of retail shops and its Delaware presence offers a bit of a savings especially in this economy when every nickel counts. Lums Pond State Park, only minutes away, offers recreation including paddle boats and nature trails. The city of Newark, Delaware Intercorp’s home, caters largely to the University of Delaware crowd and therefore offers a variety of restaurants and breweries.

A drawback which I am willing to live with to enjoy this convenience is at income tax time, when I have to file with both Delaware and Maryland.
