How do you protect e-commerce?

You boost consumer confidence.

That's the message that Symantec and VeriSign execs wanted to convey to business leaders earlier this week.

Consumer distrust could lash e-commerce

Their solution? Of course, purchase their products. But hidden beneath the sales pitch, there was also the underlying call to action - the need to create a trusted digital environment.

Here's the fact of the matter, as e-commerce has grown, so has the number of threats. Symantic CEO John Thompson ominously pointed out,

"Even when we think that we are unplugged, we're not."

Anyone who does business online should conscious of the real need to boost consumer confidence, after all, no e-business owner wants their customers to go back to the mall.
